Frequently asked questions
FAQ
Write to us01What is transit trade?
Transit trade, also known as merchanting trade, is the purchase of goods from a foreign country and their sale to another country without importing them into Turkey. The goods travel directly from the country of origin to the country of destination, while the purchase and sale are handled by the company in Turkey.
02Do the goods pass through Turkey?
No. In transit trade, the goods do not enter the Turkish customs territory. The cargo is transported directly from the port or border of departure to the destination.
03What products can you supply?
Our main groups are machinery and equipment, electronic components, electrical equipment, computer hardware, lighting, home appliances, automotive and agricultural machinery spare parts, hardware and bearings, heating and cooling equipment, iron and steel products, and engines and pumps. You can also send a request for a product that is not on the list.
04What information do you need for a quote?
The product name and technical specifications (brand, model or part number if possible), quantity, destination country and city, preferred delivery terms and target delivery date. Attaching a technical specification or photos speeds up the process.
05Which delivery terms do you work with?
Depending on the transaction, the Incoterms 2020 rules we use most often are FOB, CFR, CIF, FCA, CPT and DAP. We agree on the right delivery terms with you, based on the product, the route and your preference.
06How is payment made?
Letter of credit (L/C), cash against documents (CAD) or advance and partial advance payment (T/T) structures can be used. The method is chosen according to the size of the transaction and the relationship between the parties.
07Is there a minimum order quantity?
We have no fixed minimum. However, transit trade is usually most efficient for pallet, container or lot-sized orders. For smaller quantities, we will also work out the most suitable shipping option with you.
08How do you check product quality?
Before ordering, we review the technical specifications and the manufacturer's documents. If the buyer wishes, a pre-shipment inspection of quantity, packaging and quality is arranged with an independent inspection company.
09How do you handle sanctions and export controls?
In every transaction, we screen the parties against international sanctions lists and check the export control status of the product. We do not carry out transactions that fail these checks.
10Which languages can we communicate in?
You can write your request in the language you prefer. Quotes, contracts and shipping documents are usually prepared in English.
